    • 25th - In the United Kingdom, the government has launched a public consultation on its proposals for siting and developing a deep repository for higher activity wastes.

    • 14th - The government in Canada has accepted the proposal for 'Adaptive Phased Management' of spent fuel put forward in 2005 by the Nuclear Waste Management Organisation (NWMO).

    • 4th - In the United Kingdom, the House of Lords has released a report criticising the latest proposals for taking forward the Managing Radioactive Waste Safely (MRWS) process.

      The report, by the Science and Technology Select Committee, questions the wisdom of the decision to merge Nirex and and the Nuclear Decommissioning Agency.

    • 1st - In Sweden, the Radiation Protection Institute (SSI) has instructed SKB to cease waste disposal at at the Forsmark repository from 21st June

    • 25th - In Australia, the indigenous Northern Land Council (NLC) has nominated a location as a potential site for the Commonwealth radioactive waste management facility.

      The land is part of Muckaty Station, 120 kilometres north of Tennant Creek, in the Northern Territory. 3 other sites in the Northern Territory have also been under investigation as potential repository locations.

    • 9th - In Italy, a contract has been signed between SOGIN and AREVA to reprocess 235 tonnes of spent fuel at the La Hague facility in France.
